Born in Uruguay in 1983, currently living in London.
Lalu Delbracio works with multiple media, including photography, video, installation and performance. Her work often takes on an abstract form and points to material processes of formation and degradation, as well as the power of narrative in social construction.
Delbracio has a great interest in the inevitability of change in biological, material or social processes as well as the continuation and perseverance of the dominant stories on earth.
Interested in the historical and symbolic qualities of the materials she uses, and referring to narrative mediums such as theatre, film and dance, Delbracio creates scenarios that invite the viewer to contemplate and question the power of narration and our own participation in this ritual or theatrical act.
